Part 3 - 100 Things UBB10 Edition

Alright, here is the final installment of my 100 things. :D

67. The first baseball game I ever went to was in 1988. I went with my dad to see the Red Sox at Fenway. I still have the ticket.....

68. I am not a bath person....but I do so love a long, hot shower!

69. In 4th grade, I visited Arizona with my family. It was the trip that was the deciding factor on moving our family out there. My 4th grade teacher at the time told me that I would find fossils at the Grand Canyon and she wanted me to bring one back for the class. I spent the entire time we were at the Grand Canyon, picking up every rock in sight and asking my parents if it was a fossil.

70. A few years ago, I watched a video from that trip, and seriously, I must have asked...."Is this a fossil?"...over 10,000 times. I am surprised my parents didn't push me off of a ledge. (I never found one, btw).

71. I order my whopper with cheese, lettuce and mayo only.

72. I am very behind on scrapbooking. I am up to about age 2 in Audrey's. She is 6 now...and I think I have 3 pages of Isaiah's baby book done...he is 3 1/2. I haven't started Christian's yet, and he is 2.

73. When I was a kid, I wanted to be a teacher, lawyer or broadcast journalist.

74. My mom was diagnosed with multiple Sclerosis in her thirties. Now that I am 30, I find myself from time to time worrying that I might get MS.

75. I do not like dark chocolate.

76. I do not let my kids watch Spongebob. There was an episode on once, that I was listening to as background noise...and they spent the entire episode making fun of some character, because he was fat. The things that they were saying were unbelievable. So, yes, no spongebob allowed.

77. As a kid in Connecticut, I have memories of ice skating on a pond near my house. I love ice skating.

78. This past December I went ice skating at Rockefeller....it was soooo much fun.

79. I hate Captain Crunch cereal.

80. I love Wheaties or Total with just a hint of sugar and some sliced bananas.

81. When I was a kid, I used to tell my friends that I had played the youngest little girl in the Sound of Music movie. I would then go on to perform some of the musical numbers from the film.

82. I have yet to make it through Star Wars (the first one, or wait maybe it is now the last one, the one with Carrie Fisher...THERE!) I always fall asleep, always. It's one of my husband's favorite movies...yet I can't keep myself awake during it. :(

83. I had a warrant out for my arrest once. I had a court date for a traffic ticket. I read the court date wrong...I swear their 4 looked like a 9, so I didn't show up, and they put a warrant out. I lucked out and was able to rush to the courthouse and take care of it before they could arrest me first. I guess, had I waited until the next day, they would have arrested me at the courthouse, then after I posted bail, they would have allowed me to reschedule the court date or something. SO WEIRD!

84. I've held an Emmy before....my uncle's.

85. I would love to live in Long Island, NY. IT'S BEAUTIFUL...and a short train ride away from the city.

86. I used to go to Cape Cod a lot as a kid....LOVED IT!

87. When I was 8, I was stung repeatedly by tons and TONS of angry wasps, after my brother disturbed a nest. Those suckers don't die when they sting you. They were in our pants, socks...they were everywhere. My neighbor came over and covered us in mud.

88. I like hard, firm pillows....BUT my absolute favorite pillow ever, was the one I slept on at the Four Seasons. OH MY, best pillow EVER! I still want to hit up a Four Seasons gift shop, just to buy a pillow...they sell them there for $75.00. (great idea for Mother's Day present)

89. I once had a white baby grand piano. It was my 16th birthday present....but my parents sold it a few years later because supposedly the swamp cooler in our house was ruining it or something.

90. I used to love dancing. I took dance from ages 3-9, but stopped when I was forced to choose between dance or a year round choir. I chose singing instead. :D

91. I wish that I had done more musical theatre as a kid...that is one thing I didn't do a whole lot of. I know I would have LOVED IT!

92. I have never had a massage...from a spa...maybe I should get one some day.

93. I am not good at spending money on myself, but I LOVE buying gifts for others.

94. Psalm 139:9-10 is my favorite Bible verse...has been since I was 13.

94. I love watching fire.

95. I am not good at taking care of my vehicles...from keeping them clean...to getting oil changes on time...I treat my cars so badly...good thing I drive GM/Chevy...their vehicles last!

96. I love the Die Hard movies. Last year I saw all of them....LOVE THEM. I should buy them all.

97. Roman Holiday, Life is Beautiful, I Am Sam, Moulin Rouge, The Notebook and Passion of the Christ are just a few of my favorite movies.

98. The Notebook was still a better book than movie.

99. I am a Twi-hard...it's true, I admit it. I love the Twilight series. Eclipse is my favorite book of the 4...and I can't wait to see the movie. Of course the books are a million times better than the movies.

100. I sang on stage once (Gammage) with the Brady Bunch mom....Florence Henderson...so cool, I know. LOL

100 Things Part 2 - UBP10 Edition

35. I am really shy around people I don't know and am very socially awkward in that way. I am more of an observer.

36. I would rather get a pedicure over a manicure

37. I love purple roses, tulips of any color and purple orchids.

38. I stink at doing hair and makeup, which is why I usually go natural..scrunch my hair and put on foundation, lip gloss and a hint of mascara.

39. If I do buy makeup, I prefer MAC

40. I want Moulin Rouge to turn into a Broadway musical and I want to play the part of Satine.

41. I lead my daughter's Girl Scout troop and we have a camping trip coming up in July. I have to attend an 8 hour outdoor cooking class/camping class before they can go on their trip. (we are staying in a building that has a kitchen...lol) I don't even think I should even consider it a camping trip.

42. By the end of the 8 hour class, I am going to be an outdoor cooking genius!

43. When I was 3 1/2 my parents entered me into a beauty pageant. Part of the final score was based on observing us as we interacted with our peers in a play setting. I lost a lot of points that round, because I was very bossy with the other girls!

44. In high school, I was never asked to a single dance. I did go to prom my senior year with my boyfriend (now hubby) but that doesn't count..he didn't technically ask me.

45. My biggest fault, I think, is my temper. It used to take a lot to get me going, but I feel I have just been running low on patience a lot lately. I am a yeller and am not proud of it.

46. My husband is not a yeller, he is an avoider....and it really bugs him when I yell, which makes me feel even worse when I do.

47. I'm working on it.

48. I don't really show that temper side to anybody else...just my kids and hubby are the lucky ones who get to witness it. :( I firmly believe that if the hubby would just stop me and hug me when I get that way, I'd calm down...but that has yet to be tested.

49. I hate pineapple and cherries.

50. I have seen Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, Beauty and the Beast and Mama Mia on broadway. I didn't care for Mama Mia. It wasn't one I wanted to see, I took my mom. I loved Beauty and the Beast and Miss Saigon.

51. I really want to see Wicked.

52. I have seen phantom 3 times (my mom loves that one). Every single time, I have fallen asleep in the 3rd act. No idea why.

53. I named my daughter after Audrey Hepburn. I fell in love with Audrey Hepburn after watching a movie about her called The Audrey Hepburn story. It stars Jennifer Love Hewitt. I then fell in love with Audrey's movie, Roman Holiday. Audrey Hepburn was an incredible woman!

54. My daughter also has the same name as Faith Hill - "Audrey Faith".

55. When I was a young kid (4-7) I used to spend hours in my room, listening to records on my Fisher Price record player. I would just sing and dance up in my room for most of the day. Man, my mom had it good. :D

56. I have such a fear of someone breaking into our home. I have had that fear since I was 4 years old. I used to wake my dad up almost every night and make him walk down into the basement to check for bad guys. Even now, I wake up to any small sound....look out the window when I hear something. I have even convinced my husband once or twice that someone was in our house or basement. I'm a nut.

57. My hubby wants to buy a gun. I am concerned to have one in the house with the kids, but I know we can keep it locked up and such.

58. I do think it would be fun to go shooting. I've never done that before.

59. I would love to meet Martina McBride some day. I just love her.

60. My closet is a complete disaster. It's a mess. Whenever there is clutter and I have nowhere to stash it, I pile it up in my closet......I should clean it out.

61. I stink at doing the bills and managing finances. My hubby recently took over around October 2009...since then we have paid off and closed our credit cards and started putting money into savings...and he started investing some in stocks too.

62. When finances are in order, there is so much less stress.

63. When I was in high school, I wanted so badly to work as a psychologist at a children's hospital...working with the child cancer patients, but then I became interested in autism.

64. Next I considered music therapy as a possible way to work with autistic kids. But after observing a music therapy session, I decided it wasn't for me.

65. I then went to school to work toward eventually getting a master's in Psychology.....to work with children with autism. But being a mom came first. I will be a junior in college probably for the rest of my life....and paying off student loans for that long too.

66. I have a scar on my right leg from burning myself on a motorcycle exhaust pipe thingy when I was eleven. I was leaning against one that a friend of my dad's had just parked in our driveway. I lost my balance and hit the exhaust pipe. I remember a whole layer of skin was black and shriveled. It was gross.

I will post part 3 (67-100) on Monday

100 Things Part 1 - UBP10 Edition

It has been a long while since I have done a 100 things about me post....but since we are learning more about each other while we party it up this week, I figured it would be the perfect time to shell out a new one.

1. I make the yummiest Irish Cream brownies, and you can too.

3. I am not a pie person....well I will eat banana cream or french silk...but I hate, HATE apple pie and pumpkin pie..YUCK! I usually don't have dessert on Thanksgiving. :(

4. I am a thrifty shopper. I try to always check Goodwill or resale shops first and hardly ever go to the mall.

5. The Cosby Show and Dawson's Creek are my all time favorite shows.

6. Currently I love Chuck! I also enjoy Parenthood, but don't set it to record, so I have missed tons of episodes.

7. I used to LOVE Grey's, The Office and 24, but those shows are starting to bore me now.

8. I have been told that I would really like Fringe. I need to find time to rent the past seasons.

9. I am open to TV show suggestions.

10. I currently live in Colorado Springs. I moved here from Arizona. I moved to Arizona from Connecticut. I loved living on the East Coast and miss it!! It is pretty though here...see...

I took this from the car...I know it is a tad blurry.

11. I love, love LOVE cherry blossoms.

12. Peas are my favorite vegetable. They are even good frozen. :D

13. I don't eat squash or zucchini. I don't do lima beans either.

14. I love ranch dressing, but had it for the FIRST time when I was 17 years old. Growing up my parents only used Italian dressing. I don't really like Italian dressing anymore.

15. I talk about food a lot, don't I?

16. I love food

17. Fuchsia is my favorite color...followed closely by teal and purple.

21. In December of last year I went to New York with 2 girlfriends for my 30th birthday and guess what one of our stops was?

22. 21 is my favorite number.

23. I was born on the 21st...and supposedly the world is going to end on my 33rd birthday, December 21, 2012. :D

24. This is the scariest thing I have ever done. I don't like heights.

I even documented it, so you can watch it if you'd like.

25. Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney movie followed closely by The Little Mermaid.

26. Up and Monster's Inc. are my favorite Pixar movies.

27. I hate the sound of people cracking their knuckles. I can't stand it...so don't do it around me, okay?

28. I can't whistle to save my life.

29. I can however sing...it's one of my favorite things to do.

30. I have vivid memories of playing some game with the buttercups in my front yard in Connecticut. I would hold them under my chin...have no idea why...I think it had something to do with butter.

31. I used to spend hours upon hours in my front yard and back yard as a kid looking for four leaf clovers. When I was in 1st grade, I actually found one. True story.

32. I love horses and would LOVE to own one some day!

33. I also love dolphins. I had the pleasure of swimming with dolphins while vacationing with the hubby in Mexico.

34. I have never been out of the country (well except for Mexico).

Here is Part 2.

Here for the Party

A big hello to all of you Ultimate Blog Party Peeps. :D I am Erica and I actually assist Susan and Janice over at 5 Minutes for Mom. :D

Here we are at Blogher '09 with the lovely Brooke White.

I am so glad that you are visiting. I have been so very busy working for the girls over the past couple of years, that I have sort of neglected my own little corner of the web. But, I did recently get a new site design and a new URL...and I truly do love it. Now if I could only find some time to get some more content on here...life would be grand.

I hope that you will visit again throughout the coming weeks and months. I promise I will do my best to keep things fresh and fun around here. You could even follow me on Twitter if you'd like. :D

When I am not busy working behind the scenes at 5 Minutes for Mom, I can be found playing Ring Around the Rosie, coloring and running all around the house with my three kiddos. Audrey is 6, Isaiah will be 4 in July and Christian just turned 2 a few weeks ago. You can see their lovely faces on my sidebar.

I also lead my daughter's Girl Scout troop, which has been tons of fun.

Oh I also have another site, 5076 Miles Apart, with my friend, Sara, where every day we share a snapshot of our lives, as we live 5,076 miles apart.

I love to sing, read Nicholas Sparks books, watch Chuck (did you see Monday's episode?!?!?! THE BEST EVER), quilt, do Beth Moore Bible studies, eat chocolate and drink sweet tea. In fact if you were over at my house right now, I would share some Dove chocolate peanut butter eggs and sweet tea with you. I would simply ask you to ignore the crayon all over my walls. My kids are artists who don't like to obey their momma. :D

I started a 100 Things About Me - UBP10 edition. Here is Part 1Part 2 and Part 3.

Okay so a good party needs music right? So here is one of my current favorite songs that gets me dancing. I love to blast it throughout the house and you should see my kiddos dance to it..it's the best.

Also, while I have you, I would like to take a moment to share with you a bit about the organization that I am the most passionate about, Invisible Children. Their goal is to bring home the thousands upon thousands of child soldiers in Northern Uganda and capture Joseph Kony, the leader of the LRA.

I saw the film, Invisible Children, back in 2006 and it changed my heart in so many ways. It is my goal to make it out to Northern Uganda some day to help the former child soldiers.

So, what about you? What are your interests? What are you passionate about? And where is your little corner on the web? I'd love to visit.

I hope you all have a blessed week. Thank you so much for stopping by. :D

Visiting With My Dear Friend

Kate and I have been friends since 7th grade. There have been times in our lives when we have gone years without talking to each other, but when we do finally see one another again, we simply pick up where we left off. It's wonderful.

On Friday, Kate came down for a short visit. My children were thrilled to see her and stole her away. They played for a good hour, having tea parties, races and competing in obstacle courses. They had such a blast. Kate and I were able to chat some during nap time, but once the kids were awake, we headed to a nearby playplace so that they could have even more fun.

Kate is also my photographer friend. She always has a camera with her, and I LOVE that. Here are two of my favorite photos from our afternoon together.
