Conversation with the miss

Tonight at dinner, I had the following conversation with the 3 1/2 year old miss.

Miss: I am a princess
Me: You are?
Miss: Yes.
Me: And where do you live?
Miss: In a castle with two cars.
Me: Two cars, huh? What colors are they?
Miss: Purple and yellow and I have a truck. It is yellow with black on top.
And my hands do magic and I turn into pink Spiderman.
Me: Oh, I see.
Miss: And I have two boys waiting for me downstairs.
Me: You do? How old are they?
Miss: Six (She then rests her head on her hand and smiles at me)
Me: Two six year old boys downstairs?
Miss: Yes, in the playroom and they are climbing all over the place. And I tell them they will get owies that hurt real bad.
Me: Oh. Do you have any pets?
Miss: Yes, they are in my bath eating.
Me: They eat in the bath, in your bath?
Miss: Yes
Me: Doesn't that get messy for you to take a bath in?
Miss: No, there's a table in there. They eat at the table.
Me: There is a table in your bath?
Miss: Yes. It is their house.
Me: Oh, your bath is their house?
Miss: Yes.
The hubby then entered in saying...it's a bath house.

Good ol' hubby making the dad jokes.

A Conversation With a Five Year Old

Yesterday, the day care kids were talking about how they wanted to grow up so that they could be bosses. I told them that they should enjoy being kids, and that being a kid is fun. I then told them that I wished I could be a kid again.

That started the following conversation:

E - But Miss Erica, you are a grown up that means you can fly a plane.

Me - True, adults can fly a plane, but I can't. I don't know how to. I would have to go to school and learn how to. And I just don't have the time.

E- Well, I am sure that my daddy could come here and watch all the kids, so that you can learn how to fly a plane.

Me- You think your daddy would do that, eh?

E- Yep, but he'd have to ask my mommy first, because she's the boss!

You Know....

You know your car is dirty when every time you drive by a gas station with a car wash your three year old yells out.."look mommy, car wash! Go wash the car, mommy. It's dirty. Look at my window, it's dirty. You need to wash it! The car needs bubbles, mommy"

Little list of thankfulness

So, the day care kiddos are going to make a Thanksgiving garland tomorrow and on it will be the things that they are thankful for. So, yesterday afternoon I explained to them what Thanksgiving is and also what things we have in our lives we could be thankful for. After the miss listened to E (my 4 yr. old day care kiddo) list off what he was thankful for, I asked her what she was thankful for. She smiled and said, "Mommy."

Me: You are thankful for Mommy?

Little Miss: Uh-huh. Yes.

Me: What else are you thankful for?

Little Miss: (Screaming on the top of her lungs with a huge smile) DURIN!!!!(Durin is one of her closest friends).

Me: Anyone else you are thankful for?

Little Miss: Ummm...Daddy! (Poor daddy came in third). :o(

Me: What about your brother?

E: Yeah, are you thankful for the mister?

Little Miss: (VERY Matter-of-factly) NO!

Go Diego Go

So, the miss loves to watch Go Diego Go and Dora The Explorer...and see, good things do come from having your child veg in front of the TV sometimes. Some days, I feel guilty for how much TV my little gal watches. But today, we were in the car, and she kept saying Help, Help and then something that sounded like adudame. So, I looked up Help Me in Spanish and sure enough she is saying Ayudeme. :o)

She's such a smart cookie and she doesn't even know it!
