Harvest Time - Fun Ideas for the Kiddos

Pumpkin Dough Recipe
- 5 1/2 Cups Flour
- 2 Cups Salt
- 8 tsp. Cream of Tartar
- 3/4 Cup Vegetable Oil
- 1 1/2 Cups Pumpkin Spice
- 4 Cups Water
- Orange Food Coloring

Combine ingredients in a large saucepan.
Cook over low heat until it reaches a play dough consistency.
Let it cool.

Homemade Applesauce Recipe
Homemade Applesauce
Ingredients:

* 6 firm apples
* 2 tablespoons sugar
* 1/2 cup water

Directions:

1. Peel and cut apples into chunks.
2. Place apples in a skillet with a lid.
3. Sprinkle sugar over apples and add water.
4. Heat, covered, on a medium heat for approximately 15 minutes. Half way through the cooking time, check to make sure the water has not evaporated. If so, add 4 tablespoons of water and continue cooking with the lid in place.
5. When apples are very soft, remove them from the heat.
6. Mash the apples with fork, and serve warm.
7. Refrigerate unused portions in an air-tight container.

Pumpkin-Gingerbread Ice Cream Sandwiches

Pumpkin Milk Shake


1 cup ice-cream
2/3 cup milk
1/2 cup pumpkin (From 15 oz. can)
1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice

In a blender container, combine all ingredients. Cover and blend at high speed until smooth. If desired, garnish each serving with a dash of pumpkin pie spice.
